1. Information you provide

MonkeeBooks may collect account details such as your name, email address, password credentials in hashed form, family or homeschool information you choose to enter, homeschooler profiles, curriculum and recordkeeping information, support messages, seller details, referral invitations, and transaction-related information.

2. Information created through use of the service

We may create records needed to operate the service, such as account verification status, referral connections, marketplace orders, listing activity, file records, audit and security events, and preferences saved to your account.

3. Payments

Payment processing may be provided by third-party payment processors such as Stripe. MonkeeBooks does not need to store full payment-card numbers in order to operate the marketplace. Payment processors handle payment information under their own privacy and security terms.

4. How information is used

We use information to create and secure accounts, personalize homeschool guidance, provide curriculum and recordkeeping tools, operate referrals and the marketplace, process transactions, send account and service emails, respond to support requests, prevent abuse, maintain the platform, and comply with applicable obligations.

5. Referral invitations

When a member sends a referral invitation, MonkeeBooks uses the invited email address to send that invitation and associate a resulting signup with the referring member. The referring member sees referral status needed to confirm the connection. Referral information is not intended for unrelated marketing use.

6. Sharing

We may share information with service providers that help operate MonkeeBooks, such as hosting, email delivery, security, payment, tax, and marketplace-service providers, only as needed for those services. Marketplace transactions may also require information to be shared between buyers, sellers, payment providers, and shipping services as appropriate to fulfill an order.

7. Public information

Family profiles and homeschooler records are not public by default. Marketplace listings and seller information intentionally published for buyers may be publicly visible.

8. Retention

Information is retained for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, maintain account and transaction history, satisfy security and fraud-prevention needs, and meet applicable recordkeeping obligations. Some information may be removed or reduced when it is no longer needed.

9. Security

MonkeeBooks uses administrative, technical, and application safeguards intended to protect account information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so users should use strong unique passwords and protect access to their email accounts and devices.

10. Your choices

You may update many account and family details through your dashboard. You may also contact MonkeeBooks through the Support area to ask about account information, corrections, or deletion requests, subject to records that must reasonably be retained.

11. Children and homeschooler information

MonkeeBooks family accounts are controlled by the account holder. Homeschooler profiles are intended to be managed by the parent, guardian, or other authorized adult responsible for the account. Families should enter only information useful to the tools they choose to use.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as MonkeeBooks features and service providers change. The current version will be posted on this page with an updated date.
